Alarm fobs, a cautionary tale!

Postby richardB » Sat Feb 20, 2010 10:58 am

Two things I learnt last year,
1] Don't keep your alarm fob in your pocket.
      2] Replace the battery regularly.
Because if you don't this is what can happen!
Whilst on a peaceful site in France last year I was checking the tyre pressures and heard this beep, looked round wondered what it was and carried on.Went back to caravan and opened door, found out what beep was as caravan alarm went off!
Hastily retrieved fob from pocket and pressed button nothing happened!
Alarm finally stopped and thought I must be pressing wrong button, never mind
the instructions are in the hand book which is .... in the caravan.
Retrieved handbook, alarm went off, found relevant page and pressed correct button, still nothing.
Realised that the battery in the fob had had enough power to turn alarm on but not off! Never mind wife Ros has the spare fob.
Where is said wife? at opposite end of campsite cursing some ****ock whose alarm keeps going off!
Hello dear, "where is your alarm fob",I enquired "it's in my handbag","and where is you handbag?" I asked, yes you've guessed IN THE CARAVAN !!!
Return to caravan passed people who are offering advice which involves wirecutters and hammers and other unmentionable acts!
Retrieve hand bag, alarm went off, found fob pressed  button, silence at last!
Now, when you've all stopped laughing check your fob battery!
