Where are all the Fleetwood Caravans?

Are we the Lepers of the Caravan world? We have just returned from holiday in Somerset and stayed on a site with well over 1000 Caravans on it but apart from one fairly new looking Sonata and a few very old Fleetwood's there were no newish vans to be found.
Yet everyone walking past our van looked on with admiring glances and some nice comments if they stopped chatting.
Even travelling on the motorway on a school holiday weekend we never noticed any.
I cant understand why this is because I am proud of my Fleetwood, I think it is a special make that we have purchased which does make us stand out from the crowd so where are they all hiding --- thoughts.    Tim ( aka Flipper )

That's funny. We have had the opposite experience.

In order:
On the Sherwood Forest site near to us, there were 2004 & 2007 640ES's.
At Kingsbury Water park, saw (2008) 640EB like ours.
Later on saw some older Fleetwoods at Filey.
Brighton, we pitched with 2003ish Fleetwood twin axles.
Overtook a 640BB on the M42 when coming back from the IOW!

And that's missing off A&J's 640ES on the IOW.

They are not that commonplace though, was reading an article in I think Practical Caravan? about the popularity of various makes of caravan, they reckoned the Fleetwood Heritage was a 'posh' c'van and you have to look hard and long to see another.There was only one less popular mode/makel, can you guess what?

Meridien ??  Perhaps there is a country dividing line and from the midlands westward there may have been a lack of Dealerships for Fleetwood. It just seems a shame that we dont see so many about.

Just returned from Scotland today (C&CC NFOL) and there was one Fleetwood out of 1,500 caravans. It was a Merideon. Having travelled 775 miles with it in the last 7 days we never saw another.
As you say, when someone looks at it they admire it and it is 'posh'. We have not seen another van we would change it for, of the same length.

Our run of Fleetwood spotting this year has come to an end. Nothing at all in Derbyshire's Callow Top.
Saw a few other very nice looking vans though, but reckon ours was the best! - I'm biased!

As you guys know we have been in the IW for the summer, we have had two Fleetwoods on site, only two!!

We managed to scan in an Owners Manual from one of the owners and think we could get the other owner to join the Club, so for us a success.

We are currently on site at Peachley Touring Caravan Park, Lower Broadheath, Worcester. Arrived yesterday and was told we could park anywhere on the 50 plus empty spaces, so we found a nice spot and parked up. When we were set up I looked across at the van opposite - it is a Fleetwood 2000, which a twin axle but looks no longer than ours. It is permanently sited here. I spoke to the owners, who come here every weekend and told them about our club. They are not interested in joining as they just holiday here. I will leave the site contact details with them before we leave - just in case. I will take a photo while here and post it on next week when we return home.

we are at pillaton pools penkridge for the week as I  can travel to work from here , over 50 vans at the weekend but not a fleetwood to be seen - pity due to the printing error on the new A Frame covers I'm still waiting and cant show it off yet.

Showed the dog at Birmingham yesterday. Travelling there saw an older Heritage 640 before we'd even left town, and another late model twin axle on the M1. They are just SO commonplace!!

perhaps we should have a rally on the NEC Carpark at the Caravan show in October and show the Caravanning world some REALLY nice caravans lol.

Now there's a good idea for next year!!! To make an impression we'd have to block book, have to see what can be done?

count us in if my joke becomes a reality, it would look impresive if we had a good turn out hopefully all of us proudly showing off our Owners Club A Frame covers. Tim

That would be thinking too far ahead! but it is a good thought.

Just think of it, all the Fleetwood's in one location with the A-Frame covers and sipping your tipple in the Fleetwood logo'd GLASS.

That would be too much to ask, but we can dream, it may become a reality.
