New Carpets

Many folks like to do a bit of DIY on their van, repairs, modifications etc. Why not share with others.

New Carpets

Postby AllanandJackie » Sun Jun 29, 2014 11:03 am

Had our caravan now for 6 yrs with the same carpets as it came with, they were really showing serious signs of wear even though we had strips of matts over. We know lots of folks who have changed their carpets soon after purchasing the caravan, as the carpets as fitted were not of the best quality.

We took our various bits down to our local carpet shop in Newark, selected the quality & colour we wanted from the remnants section and they did the rest. All cut to shape and bound with a few extra for runners next to the kitchen sink and entrance door all for £145 ish together with spray can of anti slip for the corners. Apparently you spray/squirt this solution onto the underside away from the edges about 150mm. We haven't been out in the caravan as yet to know if the anti slip works, but will let you know as we have been harassed by moving runners in the past.
