What the press has reported ....

NEW.BBC.CO.UK
Fifty jobs have been lost and another 13 are under threat at a caravan manufacturing firm in Suffolk which has gone into administration.

Administrators KPMG said Fleetwood Caravans Limited in Hall Street, Long Melford, was "yet another victim of the current economic downturn".

KPMG said it was hoping to sell Fleetwood, which has an annual turnover of ?7m, as a going concern.

Fleetwood sells its caravans through dealers across the UK and Ireland.

Administrator David Standish said: "Following careful consideration of all of the options available it became clear that Fleetwood Caravans Limited had no alterative other than to be placed into administration.

"Unfortunately the company has become yet another victim of the current economic downturn as discretionary spending, particularly on big-ticket items, is either deferred or cancelled.

"That said, the Fleetwood brand name is strong in the marketplace and synonymous with the first-class quality of the caravans produced at the Long Melford site.

"Accordingly, we are making every effort to sell the business as a going concern and would ask any interested parties to contact us."

FROM CARAVAN MAGAZINE
The Suffolk based caravan manufacturer, Fleetwood Caravans Ltd went into administration on Tuesday 6 January 2009.

It is a sad day for the caravan manufacturer which had been an industry leader for over 40 years.
This will not affect or have any influence over the activities of Adria Concessionaires Ltd, the sister company to Fleetwood Caravans, which will still trade as normal in the UK without any changes.
Managing Director Slavica Sterk said: "We can confirm Adria's commitment to our UK customers and partners now and in the future. The business results for 2008 have been a complete success for Adria Concessionaires; the response to the product from retail customers has been overwhelming and all these facts give us the new energy to focus on development of new products, some of which will be present at the Boat, Caravan & Outdoor Show at the NEC is Birmingham next month."
Adria Concessionaires has said that full support is available for all of their dealers and customers. There has been a considerable investment to create a comprehensive range of products adapted for the UK market which will continue in 2009 and beyond. The NEC show will see the launch of a brand new UK developed product.
