Editing permissions

Postby limecc » Fri Dec 03, 2010 12:27 am

Unable to edit my own posts after they have been submitted if the topic belongs to someone else (but can delete).

This topic that I started I can edit but not delete.

Edited four times to test.

OK, just found out that I can do so with the post I just made, but there are other posts that appear locked.

An example is the recent snow weight topic started by Jez. I can delete but not edit.

Although not essential, I would also like to edit my old posts that came from the old forum. The attached images are not displaying. Maybe this should be classified on the 'bug' list?

Update: I can't edit posts 1 to 3 of this thread, and can only delete post 3.

Looks like we can only delete the last post as I can't delete post 4 anymore but can still edit.

I can delete any posts and could in the old forum too. Anyone wanting an old post that has been replied to deleted needs to request an administrator to do it.

That's fine, but since your reply I can't edit the previous posts in this thread as they are now locked. I was trying to upload an attachment to an earlier post in the for sale section and change some info about my Tracker that is now in a public forum. Sometimes it's just too much effort for us as members (and you as admin) to raise an email and make desired changes. I've often gone back to posts like with the 'How-to' add a second pair of speakers, to change spelling or tweak the content or title.
