Lights flicker

Postby Stocky59 » Sun Feb 17, 2019 8:21 pm

The fleetwood heritage 640es.

Has anyone had issues with lights flickering and then going off.

I checked the psu and found one of the bulbs along side the fuses lit up so assumed the fuse beside the light had blown...simple fix I thought but as I went to take the fuse out the lights came back on ...I checked the 10amp fuse and it was ok ...so I put it back in the holder and it didn't work so I wiggled it and low and behold the lights came back on.

The psu unit prior to this problem had not been moved it just seems to have happened without it being touched or the caravan moving.

Would appreciate anyone having an answer

There'll be a bad connection in there somewhere, some people have had the pcb out and had to re-solder some of the joints.

Ok so found that the fuse was slightly bent so had a bad connection in the fuse holder...a cheap fuse
I think paying a little bit extra for good fuses is a good idea.
Simple fix which appeared to be worse than what it was

Maybe my problem could be related to the PCB, could someone send me a photo on how the PCB was fixed?
this was my message send to day a year later"
No 12 Volt power to fridge and two lights

Postby Bensom » Wed Apr 03, 2019 11:54 pm
I have a 2005 Fleetwood Heritage 650ES twin axle caravan, I am in Australia.
No 12 volt power on fridge and the light between the radio and clothes cupboard also in the ceiling light between the toilet and shower.
Have checked all the 12 Volt fuses they are OK.
It was said the 12 volt power only works with the tow vehicle and 12 volt power attached, did that but allas still no 12 volt power.
There is no electrical diagram for the vans wiring so it is a nightmare trying to find the fault, may be it is a loose connection somewhere, but where?
Has any one experienced this? how was is diagnosed how was it fixed , what am I looking for to fix it?
Is there a decent 12 volt caravan wiring diagram for this somewhere, can I talk to some one that had the same problem.

I think the best way is to methodically use a tester and find out where the power is failing along the way,is it getting to the power side of the fuse holder, are the fuses actually OK etc.

In regard to the fridge do you mean there is no power to it at all,i.e. it doesn't work at all even on gas/240 or just when towing?
