Developing the 'How-To-Series'

Limcc or Paul, one of our most enthusiastic forum members has some time ago started the how to series by explaining in descriptive form and complemented by photos a series of steps necessary to repair, replace, maintain or install a component or system related to his Fleetwood caravan.

We think this a good way of showing other members how to perform these tasks to their own caravans with the added benefit that they know that another member has successfully carried out this operation and can offer advice and assistance should that be needed by others.

We intend over the coming months to extract these topics from the current forums and set up a new area dedicated to the
?How?To-Series'.

Our thoughts here are that the dedicated area will not be interactive but contain the detail necessary to carryout the task in question together with the author, that way it will be easier to itemise the various topics for quick reference by those wishing to access specific topics.

We are open to any suggestions on how you would prefer to see this area develop, so if you have any experience or preferences please come forward as soon as possible with your input so they can be given due consideration.

A very good idea Allan and Jackie as I am sure there are alot of Novice Caravanners out there  ( we have only been towing a Caravan for 2 years now ) who are grateful to look at others experiences and sometimes who need to know answers to Basic questions -- for example how to winterize properly  -- who are put off asking basic questions to experienced caravanners for fear of being laughed at - Although I am sure that would'nt happen on our friendly forum. Also the member viewing may be able to email the author direct for one to one advice on a particular item. Tim  ( aka flipper ).

Not only new caravanners, us old ones as well. Even after 36 years there is a lot to learn and am all for knowledge. For instance, last week my handbrake failed and I now do not have one till I get it fixed so having to use the motor mover on the wheel.

I nearly did another last week. How-to 'Fix-the-bust-lightbulb-in-the-Remis-rooflight'. Do you think this would be of use to anyone Allan? hint hint..

It was actually the bulb holder to blame.

Go for it Paul, I think the simpler the task the more likely that the novice will have a go and replace / repair the item.
