Collected our 2008 Heritage 640 EB on Saturday. The dealer's handover was pretty thorough taking an hour and a half, then we were on the road.
The towing experience was excellent, our ML270 making light work of the 97 mile trip (its a 78% match so it ought to!). The mover was handy for the wriggle into storage, and since then we have been all over the 'van trying things out and generally getting to know her.
So far we are really pleased. The 'van has been really well looked after (the dealer sold it from new and said the original owners had a "no expense spared" attitude to care and maintenance). We were originally looking for a new 'van and were attracted to Bailey's Alutech construction, but after looking at some at the ExCeL show, and finding several faults (on show prepared 'vans!) then looking at dealers new stock that had the same faults, plus several more, we went right off the idea. Mel found a Heritage 640 EB at a local dealer and really liked it, but it failed our damp test badly, so we kept looking, After two more viewing trips we found our 'van. Woo Hoo!
I have thought for some time that there is nothing on the market to match a 640 EB for a layout that's suited to social gatherings (we often get 6 or 7 in for nosh), and having scoured the market for new 'vans I am even more convinced of that sentiment. Ours has less faults and a better finish than the new 'vans we saw too.
We are getting her ready for our first trip next week.
