The best way to size an awning to your caravan is to measure your van, that way you can be sure it's the right size.

I'd like to resurrect this thread because I want to get a full awning for my own heritage 560-4 and I'm now doubting my own measurements.

The Isabella website gives an A-measurement (ground to ground) of 1005 and an awning size of 1000 for this van, so I was very surprised to read Richard M's comment about the Isabella 1000 awning being so much too small.

Obviously the Isabella figure contradicts the Fleetwood manual figure of 1025, but my ground to ground measurement is 993, and this fits within the Isabella 1000 range of 986-1010. I measured it by running a draftt skirt through the awning rail, not a stretchy bit of string.

Has anyone actually fitted an Isabella 1000 to this model of van ?

The 1000 Isabella is fine for this van, we found a Bradcot to be too small but an Isabella Capri Lux 1000 which is what we have is fine

Bought our new awning and sure enough the man at Golden Castle Caravans in Gloucester looked in his database and said we needed a 1025 awning, so I told him the Isabella website recommended a size 1000.
He phoned Isabella there and then and they confirmed that 1000 is the right size, and the sales guy said that if it was the wrong size we could bring it back.

So we now have a size 1000 Ventura Pacific 250 and tried it out over last weekend. It fits nearly perfectly with about 5cm of skirt visible all round, and that's with the other side of the van raised for side to side levelling.

Also, you need 6.5 metres of awning carpet to fit this size of awning.
